Havemco Consulting provides compliance, financial-crime prevention, anti-money laundering, fraud prevention, risk-management, audit, training, and advisory services. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, apply for a position, or work with us.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
Havemco Consulting is responsible for the personal information under its control. The person responsible for the protection of personal information can be reached at info@havemco.com or 514-907-1204. You may use these contact details for questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or our privacy practices.
2. What information do we collect?
Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect your name, business title, organization, email address, telephone number, and preferred language; information included in messages, consultation requests, proposals, contracts, and other business communications; résumés, cover letters, qualifications, employment history, and other information submitted with an application; and information required to deliver a mandate, including compliance, risk, transaction, investigation, audit, or regulatory information supplied by a client.
When you use our website, limited technical information may be recorded automatically, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, and date and time of access. Please do not send sensitive or confidential mandate information through the general website contact form unless we specifically ask you to do so through an approved secure method.
3. Why do we use personal information?
We use personal information to respond to inquiries and schedule consultations; assess client needs, prepare proposals, enter into and manage contracts, and deliver our professional services; communicate with clients and business contacts; evaluate applications and recruit personnel or consultants; operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and systems; comply with legal, regulatory, insurance, accounting, and professional obligations; prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and other unlawful activity; and establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
If we wish to use your information for a new purpose that is not compatible with the purpose originally explained to you, we will provide the required notice and obtain consent where applicable.
4. Consent and your choices
We obtain consent in a form appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the information, unless the law permits or requires us to act without consent. You may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from responding to a request or providing certain services.
5. When do we share information?
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it to employees and consultants who need it for their duties; technology, hosting, communications, document-management, security, accounting, insurance, legal, and other professional service providers; regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies, or other parties when disclosure is authorized or required by law; or another organization in connection with a proposed business transaction, subject to applicable safeguards.
Some service providers may process information outside Québec or Canada, where it may be subject to foreign laws. Before communicating personal information outside Québec where required, we assess the relevant privacy factors and use contractual or other safeguards appropriate to the circumstances.
6. Cookies and website technologies
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for security, navigation, accessibility, and core operation. We do not currently use advertising or behavioural-profiling cookies. If we introduce optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential technologies, we will provide appropriate information and obtain consent where required. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling necessary cookies may affect site functions.
7. Retention and security
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and to meet legal, regulatory, contractual, insurance, and recordkeeping requirements. We then securely destroy or anonymize it in accordance with applicable law.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards based on the sensitivity, amount, use, distribution, and storage format of the information. These measures may include access controls, confidentiality commitments, secure service providers, and incident-response procedures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; withdraw consent; ask questions about our use or disclosure of your information; request that we stop disseminating information or de-index a link in circumstances provided by law; request computerized personal information in a structured, commonly used technological format where the portability right applies; or submit a privacy complaint.
We may ask you to verify your identity before processing a request. We will respond within the time required by law and explain any lawful refusal.
9. Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party websites, including LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them before providing personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices, services, technologies, or legal obligations. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. We will provide additional notice where a change requires it.
